The legacy Options API forced developers to organize code by type (data, methods, computed), which made complex components incredibly hard to read. The Vue 3 Composition API (`<script setup>`) allows us to group code logically by feature. We can extract this logic into highly reusable 'Composables', making Vue applications vastly more scalable and easier to unit test.

A standard Vue Single Page Application (SPA) renders all its HTML in the user's browser via JavaScript. This causes slow initial load times and ruins SEO (Google sees a blank page). Nuxt 3 provides Server-Side Rendering (SSR). It renders the full HTML on the server and sends it to the browser instantly, resulting in massive SEO boosts and incredibly fast perceived load times.

Vue 2 is officially End-of-Life (EOL). We execute a phased migration. We install the `@vue/compat` build, which allows Vue 3 to run in a Vue 2 compatibility mode. We then incrementally refactor the codebase component by component, moving away from Vuex to Pinia, and slowly adopting the Composition API, all without halting your feature development pipeline.

Vuex was Vue's official state management library, but it relied on heavy boilerplate (mutations, actions) and had terrible TypeScript support. Pinia is the modern, official replacement. It is incredibly lightweight, removes the need for mutations entirely, and provides flawless, out-of-the-box TypeScript inference, making global state management a joy.

Webpack bundles your entire application every time you save a file, which can take 10+ seconds on large projects. Vite utilizes native browser ES modules. When you save a file, Vite only transforms that single file and instantly updates it in the browser (HMR). This keeps development server start times under 1 second, regardless of how massive the Vue application becomes.

We use Volar, the official Vue Language Server. Volar deeply understands Vue's Single File Components (`.vue`). It enforces strict TypeScript checks directly inside the `<template>` tags, ensuring that you cannot pass the wrong prop type or emit the wrong event payload without the compiler instantly throwing an error.

For massive enterprise applications with dozens of developers, a single Vue repository becomes a bottleneck. We utilize Webpack Module Federation or Vite Native Federation to split the UI into independent 'Micro-Frontends' (e.g., the Cart, the Dashboard). Each team can build, test, and deploy their specific Vue module independently without breaking the entire application.

Vapor Mode is an upcoming, highly anticipated compilation strategy for Vue. Currently, Vue uses a Virtual DOM (like React) to calculate UI changes, which requires memory overhead. Vapor Mode compiles Vue components directly into native DOM API calls (like Solid.js), completely bypassing the Virtual DOM. This will allow us to build extremely performance-sensitive components that run blisteringly fast.
