CUSTOM GRAPHQL SERVICES

Advanced API Architecture & Federation

We architect APIs that eliminate over-fetching and perfectly match your frontend data requirements. From building unified enterprise Supergraphs to resolving complex N+1 query bottlenecks, our engineers deliver uncompromised API performance.

Engineers working together

We unify deeply fragmented microservice architectures by implementing Apollo Federation. We expose a single, cohesive 'Supergraph' to your frontend teams while allowing backend teams to deploy domain-specific subgraphs independently.

We completely neutralize the dreaded N+1 query problem. Our engineers rigorously implement DataLoader patterns to batch and cache downstream database requests, turning hundreds of redundant queries into a single, highly optimized SQL call.

We enforce strict API governance using the Schema Definition Language (SDL). By generating TypeScript types directly from the schema, we ensure absolute type safety and synchronization between backend resolvers and frontend clients.

We build highly scalable WebSocket implementations to power GraphQL Subscriptions. We deliver instant, push-based data synchronization for live dashboards, chat applications, and real-time financial tickers.

We rapidly develop GraphQL BFF layers to sit in front of legacy REST, gRPC, or SOAP APIs. This allows modern mobile and web clients to query complex legacy data with perfect efficiency without refactoring underlying systems.

GraphQL flexibility can be a security risk. We lock down your APIs by implementing strict query depth limits, cost/complexity analysis, and Automatic Persisted Queries (APQ) to outright reject malicious scraping and DDoS attempts.

Caching GraphQL is notoriously difficult. We implement advanced @cacheControl directives and edge CDN integrations to intelligently cache full queries or partial responses, drastically reducing database load during traffic spikes.

We safely transition your core products from monolithic REST endpoints to declarative GraphQL graphs incrementally, ensuring zero downtime and providing extensive documentation for consuming teams.

Unified Supergraph Migration

A global retail brand was struggling to maintain velocity across 15 separate microservices (Inventory, Pricing, Reviews). We implemented Apollo Federation to stitch these services into a single unified Supergraph. This allowed their frontend React teams to query all product data in a single request, reducing mobile page load times by 60%.

High-Frequency Trading Dashboard

A fast-growing fintech startup needed to push live stock ticker data to a heavily customized dashboard. We built a scalable GraphQL Subscription infrastructure powered by WebSockets and Redis Pub/Sub. The system successfully pushed sub-second data updates to thousands of concurrent users without requiring the clients to aggressively poll the server.

Content Delivery Optimization

A prominent news publisher's REST API was severely over-fetching data, causing massive bandwidth costs on mobile devices. We migrated their content delivery layer to GraphQL. By allowing the mobile app to specify exactly which fields it needed (e.g., just the article title and thumbnail), we reduced API payload sizes by 85%, drastically lowering infrastructure costs.

GraphQL FAQ

What tech leaders ask about GraphQL before pulling us in:

REST APIs often suffer from 'over-fetching' (returning more data than the UI needs, wasting bandwidth) or 'under-fetching' (requiring multiple round-trip requests to render a single page). GraphQL solves this by allowing the frontend client to declarative request exactly the shape and amount of data it needs in a single query, significantly improving network performance.

Because GraphQL resolves fields individually, fetching a list of items with nested relationships (e.g., 100 Posts and their respective Authors) can accidentally trigger 101 separate database queries. Our engineers strictly implement the 'DataLoader' pattern. DataLoader batches and caches these requests in the background into a single `IN (...)` SQL query, completely neutralizing the performance bottleneck.

Yes, and it excels at it. We utilize Apollo Federation to build a 'Supergraph'. This architecture allows you to keep your backend microservices completely decoupled and maintained by separate teams, while exposing a single, unified GraphQL gateway to your frontend clients. The gateway intelligently routes portions of the query to the appropriate underlying microservices automatically.

Out of the box, a malicious user could write a deeply nested query to exhaust your server resources. To prevent this, we implement several strict security layers: Query Depth Limiting (blocking deeply nested queries), Query Complexity Analysis (scoring and blocking computationally expensive queries before execution), and Automatic Persisted Queries.

Because GraphQL typically operates over a single HTTP POST endpoint, traditional HTTP GET caching (like standard CDN caching) is difficult. We solve this by implementing Automatic Persisted Queries (APQ) which allows queries to be sent via GET requests, enabling CDN caching. We also heavily utilize Apollo Client's normalized cache on the frontend to drastically reduce unnecessary network requests.

In REST, a failed request typically returns a 4xx or 5xx HTTP status code. In GraphQL, queries almost always return a 200 OK HTTP status. If an error occurs during resolution, GraphQL returns a dedicated `errors` array alongside any data that was successfully resolved (Partial Fulfillment). We architect our schemas to return strictly typed domain errors within the payload to make frontend handling robust.

It is a massive productivity multiplier. Because GraphQL is strictly typed via the Schema Definition Language (SDL), we utilize GraphQL Code Generator to automatically generate perfectly typed TypeScript interfaces, React Hooks (e.g., Apollo's `useQuery`), and backend resolver signatures directly from the schema file. This ensures perfect type safety across the entire stack instantly.

Unlike queries and mutations which operate over standard HTTP, GraphQL Subscriptions utilize persistent WebSocket connections. This allows the server to actively push real-time data updates (such as chat messages, live notifications, or stock prices) down to connected clients instantly, utilizing Redis Pub/Sub to scale across multiple server instances.
